WHAT IS HACKING ?
Hacking is when someone tries to get into computers or networks without permission. They might do this to steal information, cause damage, or just for fun.
WHAT IS HACKER?
A hacker is someone who uses their technical knowledge and skills to gain unauthorized access to computer systems, networks, or data. The term "hacker" has evolved over time and can have different connotations depending on context:
(1) White-Hat Hacker (Ethical Hacker): White-hat hackers are cybersecurity professionals who use their skills to identify and fix security vulnerabilities in systems. They typically work with organizations to improve their cybersecurity defenses and prevent malicious hacking. (2) Black-Hat Hacker: Black-hat hackers engage in illegal activities by exploiting security vulnerabilities for personal gain or malicious purposes. They may steal data, disrupt services, or cause damage to computer systems or networks.
(3) Gray-Hat Hacker: Gray-hat hackers fall somewhere between white-hat and black-hat hackers. They may engage in hacking activities without malicious intent but without explicit authorization from the target organization. Gray-hat hackers may disclose vulnerabilities to the organization after exploiting them, but their actions may still be considered illegal.
(4) Script Kiddie: A script kiddie is an individual who lacks technical expertise but uses pre-made hacking tools and scripts to launch attacks on computer systems or networks. Script kiddies often engage in hacking for fun or to gain notoriety without fully understanding the technical details of their actions.
(5) Hacktivist: Hacktivists are individuals or groups who use hacking techniques to promote social or political causes. They may deface websites, leak sensitive information, or disrupt services to draw attention to their cause.
